Valerie, really enjoyed this video and congratulations on your appearance on NBC in Dallas/FT Worth. In my opinion, the time of job loss can be some of the most valuable time you’ll ever spend with yourself. It allows you the opportunity to think about what you’ve accomplished, who you are, what you want to do in the future, and more. Working thru the 360Reach and crafting a brand bio are two important things to also complete during this time — once some of the emotion and stress from the initial job loss has settled.
This is a great reminder that sometimes we are so comfortable in our current roles, almost taking our abilities for granted that when something like a layoff happens we are lost.
Getting others feedback is a great pick me up and really highlights for you that what you do naturally and really well is actually viewed as strengths and uniqueness that others value highly.

I think this video portrays a hope for those in transition or looking to move from their current role. I imagine this clip seeming like a beacon of light amidst the drudgery of job search. I see personal branding as a ‘best kept secret’ that we as strategists use in our work on a daily basis, and it never fails me or my clients… the more people who get to know it, the more they love it. Great job Valerie!
I love the idea of getting friends and family to provide input on your best qualities. We often don’t see ourselves as others do. By asking them to evaluate your strengths, you might tap into an aspect of your personality that you don’t even normally notice.
It’s great to share inspiring bits like this, especially right now when things are tough. Good to know that there are people out there who are getting back on track.
