  1. Great reminders here – in summary it is all about authenticity and value – far too many people out there seem to be devoid of both of these as they rush to be in personal branding.

  2. Well said. What resonated with me is to remain true to what has always worked for me in the past (pre-overwhelming virtual world) and that is real relationship building in the real world. It’s easy to get caught up in the netherworld. Thanks William.

    William:
As always, you amaze me with your ability to consistently deliver great content!!! I love this video and what resonated for me was the point about “don’t act before thinking”. I totally agree that it is so important to build a strategic plan for your career/brand and then once the plan is built, then you begin to execute on it. Many times after I deliver your keynote, I ask people what they are going to do to work on their brand, and then have completely skipped over the EXTRACT phases and have gone right to EXPRESS, or the execution phase. Thank you for your great advice.

William — Sorry, but I can’t help myself… “Quantity” is misspelled on the graphic for rule #4. I am plagued by my apparent obsession for finding typos. I love this video, as I do all of your material. Thanks for it.

Thank you very much for this great summary. I truly believe that there exists a niche for everbody, simply because everybody is unique.

I agree it was a good overview of what not to do and could be easily made to what to DO for creation of your personal brand. I personally liked “It is not all about you” and “quality over quantity” which is what I am trying to do in Estonia at the moment. We do sometimes forget that showing our abilities actually means listening to other peoples’ needs and giving them thus good answers. And with the e-marketing there are lot of people who try (and sadly succeed) in getting lots of people with the hype selling only the tip of the ice berg. Personal branding is a very personal thing and actually needs one-on-one work.
