Westfield Stratford City: 100 years of Fashion

I love this ad because: It uses dance – something we can all relate to – to showcase the event being advertised. The special effects are great and there is no dialog, yet you stay engaged.

This ad and your personal brand: Think about something everyone can relate to and connect it to what you offer. This is a great way of getting your message across to everyone who needs to hear it. Know that images often speak louder than words.

We are delighted to start 2012 by hosting one of our nation’s most sought after inspirational speakers, Fawn Germer. Fawn’s recent book, Hard Won Wisdom, was declared by Oprah Winfrey to be “very inspiring.” And considering all the extraordinary stories Oprah has reported, if she finds the book inspiring, you will too. The book is the result of over 50 interviews with some of the world’s most success female leaders. It includes stories from businesswomen and politicians, athletes and scientists, and activists and actresses. Gentlemen, don’t exclude yourself from the event just yet. The leadership lessons are universal. Although the stories originate from successful women, the concepts can still apply to male leadership roles too.

Four-time Pulitzer-nominated journalist, Fawn Germer, is our distinguished guest for the January 12, 2012 Reach Personal Branding Interview at noon EST. Fawn will discuss her new book, Hard Won Wisdom, in an interactive, one-hour conversation with William Arruda, founder of Reach Personal Branding.

In this interview, which will be recorded, you will learn:

How to expand your influence and authority instead of waiting to be given power and position

To define yourself with viability and relevance

To put your self-esteem and insecurity in check and believe in your ability to achieve your own personal greatness

How to thrive in your discomfort zone

How to balance your work and life while reducing stress

This Reach Interview is sponsored by videoBIO® with affordable, professional video services in cities across North America.

Next to the death of a spouse, parent or family member, the most emotional thing we all do is look for a job. The mere thought of being rejected, lied to, or forgotten pains us. Often during this process, our egos play havoc with our emotions. At times we might be prideful, thinking we deserve a particular position. Other times we might sell ourselves short, losing sight of all our unique qualities and gifts.

Part of what makes this process an emotional roller coaster is the dreaded resume. Your resume forces you to reflect on your life accomplishments and milestones, revealing your relevance to potential employers. It is a snapshot of your professional life. Yet America’s #1 Recruitment & Placement Specialist, Tony Beshara, claims that resumes are overrated. In an ironic turn of events, he devoted his newest book to the topic of developing powerful resumes.

Tony Beshara is our distinguished guest for the November 10, 2011 Reach Personal Branding Interview at noon EST. Tony will discuss his new book, Unbeatable Resumes, in an interactive, one-hour conversation with William Arruda, founder of Reach Personal Branding.

In this interview, which will be recorded, you will learn:

Why resumes are overrated

How hiring authorities view resumes

How to utilize keywords effectively

How to use gaps and career changes to your advantage

The truth about video resumes, social networking sites, and job search websites

How to present your resume so the right people read it

What collateral materials will help make you a better candidate

What hiring authorities look for in a cover letter

Do you consider yourself a genius? Tricky question, right? If you answer ‘yes,’ you could be viewed as pompous. If you answer ‘no,’ you could be selling yourself short. Most people measure genius by those who appear in the history books or, worse yet, those who score highest on standardized tests. But the truth is we are all geniuses in our own right, at least that’s what Gina Rudan is determined to prove in her new book, Practical Genius. By redefining “genius,” Gina’s mission is to spark a genius movement where people are playing within their genius zones.

What “Practical Genius” means and how to determine whether or not you have it

The benefits of merging your personal and professional selves

How to determine the forces that “de-genius” you

The 5-steps to achieving Practical Genius

How to fuel and sustain your genius

The science behind Practical Genius

How to nurture genius in your company or organization

Why it’s important to have Yodas, Ambassadors, and Fat Brains in your life

How to tune into your “genius frequency”

You will be pressured to stop dragging your feet and take risks you’ve been postponing. Are you up for the challenge? Are you ready to Poke The Box?

Seth Godin is our distinguished guest for the September 15, 2011 Reach Personal Branding Interview at noon EST. Seth will discuss his best-selling book Poke The Box in an interactive, one-hour conversation with William Arruda, founder of Reach Personal Branding.

In this interview, which will be recorded, you will learn:

How Seth invented the new status quo for publishing

What it means to “poke the box”

Seth’s greatest failure and why failing is encouraged

How to stand out from the crowd and be remarkable

How to be a linchpin

What is means to lead a tribe

Seth Godin’s perspective on personal branding

How to get started on any project in three easy steps

***Spoiler Alert! In case you wanted to get started before the interview:
1) Don’t think about it. 2) Just start. 3) Keep starting.

BIO: Seth Godin

Seth Godin has written thirteen books that have been translated into more than thirty languages. Every one has been a bestseller. He writes about the post-industrial revolution, the way ideas spread, marketing, quitting, leadership and most of all, changing everything.

American Way Magazine calls him, “America’s Greatest Marketer,” and his blog is perhaps the most popular in the world written by a single individual. His latest book, Poke The Box, is a call to action about the initiative you’re taking – in your job or in your life. Seth once again breaks the traditional publishing model by releasing it through The Domino Project.

As an entrepreneur, he has founded dozens of companies, most of which failed. Yoyodyne, his first Internet company, was funded by Flatiron and Softbank and acquired by Yahoo! in 1998. It pioneered the use of ethical direct mail online, something Seth calls Permission Marketing. He was VP of Direct Marketing at Yahoo! for a year.

His latest company, Squidoo.com, is ranked among the top 125 sites in the US (by traffic) by Quantcast. It allows anyone (even you) to build a page about any topic you’re passionate about. The site raises money for charity and pays royalties to its million plus members.
